Rommel Fuerte is currently the Executive Director of World Vision in the Philippines, he rose from the ranks started as Community Development Worker.
World Vision is a global non-government organization devoted to improving the lives of children their families and communities to overcome poverty. World Vision in the Philippines is a thread that brings people together, enabling Filipinos to build a better world for children. As a large non-government organization, World Vision helps over 1 million Filipino children every year through its advocacy, relief and development programs, with the support of thousands of sponsors and donors.
Mr. Fuerte is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) from the University of Mindanao, Davao City and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Eastern University’s School of International Leadership Development, Pennsylvania, USA. He has more than 18 years of combined achievements and experiences in relief, development, advocacy, academe, consultancy and business.
His roles within and outside World Vision includes Community Development Worker in Capiz, Surigao del Sur and Butuan City, Program Facilitator and Regional Coordinator in Northeastern Mindanao/Caraga Region, Training Officer for a highly successful tuberculosis treatment and prevention project called “Kusog Baga” covering 11 provinces and more than 10 cities nationwide, Invited Professor for Social Work courses in Southern Christian College, Director for Operations and Strategy Management for World Vision in the Philippines, Strategy Specialist for World Vision in Asia Pacific based in Bangkok, Thailand covering 16 country offices, Independent Consultant for profit and non-profit organizations and special assignments for emergency responses in Indonesia and Iraq.
Mr. Fuerte also served as Board member of the Midsayap Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Philippine Coalition Against Tuberculosis (PhliCAT). Currently, Board Chair of the Community Economic Ventures, Inc. (CEVI), a micro-finance institution with head office in Tagbilaran, Bohol, Chair of the CRC CSO Coalition in the Philippines, Convenor of the Joining Forces of Child Focused Agencies in the Philippines to End Violence Against Children (EVAC) & Child Rights Now! (CRN!) and a lifetime member of the Philippine Association of Social Workers, Inc. (PASWI).
